     Walter E. Disney wurde am 15. Dezember 1901 ing Chicago geboren. Schon als Kind malte und zeichnete er gerne und verkaufte mit 7 Jahren seine ersten Comics an seine Nachbarn.
 1918 schloss Disney sich dem Roten Kreuz an und verbrachte einige Zeit in Frankreich. Da der sterile Look der Krankenwagen ihm nicht gefiel, bemalte er sie mit...Cartoons. Zurück in den USA begann er eine Karriere als Werbezeichner. Sein Traum war es jedoch gezeichnete Filme zu produzieren. Er begann mit Trickzeichnungen zu experimentieren und stellte für Geschäfte in Kansas City seine ersten Zeichentrickfilme her. In Chicago spezialisierte er sich anschließend in Kunst und Fotografie und verfeinerte in Abendkursen seine Zeichentechnik.
  Seinen Traum aber gab er nicht auf: Walt Disney machte sich auf den Weg nach Hollywood. Mit 250 Dollar Eigenkapital und 500 Dollar Schulden gründete er mit seinem Bruder Roy eine kleine Garagen-Firma.
1928 erfand Disney seine bekannteste Figur : Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse erschien zum ersten Mal in dem schwarzweißen Stummfilm Plane Crazy. Später produzierte Disney Zeichentrick Tonfilme in Farbe. Einige seiner bekanntesten Filme sind Pinocchio (1939), Dumbo (1941), Saludos Amigos (1942), Peter Pan (1953), Sleeping Beauty (1955), 101 Dalmatians (1961). . .
Walt Disneys größter Traum war ein Freizeitpark für die ganze Familie. Am 17. Juli 1955 wurde in Anaheim/Kalifornien Disneyland eröffnet. Im Park hatte Walt Disney eine eigene Wohnung über der Feuerwache.
Am 15. Dezember 1966 starb Walt Disney im Alter von 65 Jahren. Die Disney Company ist heute eine der größten Medien unternehmen...und Mickey Mouse noch immer die bekannteste Comic-Figur der Welt.
