There are two theories that state the origin of the Indonesian population. According to the first theory of the Yunan tribe came to Indonesia in waves. There are two most important waves.1. 1) Papua Melanesoid Group

2) Negroid Group

characteristic features :• This group is from Sri Lanka• small stature, tan skin and wavy hair• the distribution is the Sakai people in Siak, the strongholds in Jambi, the Enggaro people, Mentawai, Toala Tokea, Tomuna in the Muna Islands
4) Mongoloid Mongol groupsThis group is the largest group found in Indonesia and is considered as the ancestor of the Indonesian nation. features: curly or straight hair and round face.
