Our international courses are all taught at our campuses in Enschede and Deventer. Both campuses are equipped with computerrooms, an extensive library and restaurants. Since September 2007 wireless internet is available throughout the campuses enabling you to bring your laptop and work, study, search and check your email wherever you want. About Saxion Deventer The Saxion campus in Deventer is situated within walking distance from the railway station. The striking architecture, designed by the dutch architect Paul Dirks and the special location, a few minutes from the old town, the town centre and the arts centre, are all ingredients that make this an exceptional learning environment. About Saxion Enschede From 1998 till 2001 a lot of hard work is done to build a new campus in Enschede. The building is the first real 'City campus' in Holland. It doesn't look like a traditional school at all. Characteristic to the building are the pavilions, which lodge different types of ...

STRATEGIES FOR TEACHING STUDENTS WITH VISION IMPAIRMENTS Introduction There are two main functional categories of visual impairments: Low Vision and Blind. Low vision students usually are print users , but may require special equipment and materials. The definition of legal blindness covers a broad spectrum of visual impairments. The extent of visual disability depends upon the physical sensory impairment of the student's eyes, the age of the student at the onset of vision impairment, and the way in which that impairment occurred. Vision also may fluctuate or may b e influenced by factors such as inappropriate lighting, light glare, or fatigue. Hence, there is no "typical" vision impaired student. The major challenge facing visually impaired students in the science educational environment is the overwhelming mass o f visual material to which they are continually exposed, viz., textbooks, class outlines, class schedules, chalkboards writing, etc. In addition, the increa...

foriegn student exchange program USA Your friend should go to the website for the U.S. Embassy in Caracas. There, he can send an email requesting information about exchange programs. http://caracas.usembassy.gov/?a=7&lang=sp On the "Contacts" page, there is a place for "Para" and he should choose "Programas de Intercambio" and he can send them a message with his request. They should have information about high school exchange programs or should be able to point him in the right direction. (The website can be set for either Spanish or English). Also, there are a couple of international schools in Caracas which should have some information on such programs. I believe the largest school is Colegio Internacional de Caracas, so he might want to contact them. Back-to-School Special: 5 Tips on Picking a Good School I'm a policy guy, not a daddy blogger. As a general rule, I don't discuss my children in this column or on my Eduwonk blog. But when TIME asked me to write about how my wife (who also works in education) and I chose our kids' elementary school, I figured why not? We are constantly besieged by friends and colleagues who want to know how we went about picking a school, as if there were some secret education-analyst methodology I was privy to. I wish that were true! But even though I don't have access to the secret sauce, I do have a pretty good sense of how to kick a school's tires. Plus, I think it would be a shame not to use all of our parental angst for the greater good. And so, as our kids start a new year at a public school, here are some lessons from our school-hunting experience that might help guide yours. Look beneath the label. "Public" or "private" doesn't really tell you much...

Definition, Meaning and Function of Education Education is the process of teaching and learning which is intended to develop the knowledge, skills and characters of an individual (student). In the broadest sense, education is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. There are three kinds of education, formal education, non-formal education and informal education. By this broadest definition, education begins from the time we are born until our death. For example: 1. A child going to school to learn something from the teacher is kind of formal education. 2. When the employee is trained to learn new skills is kind of non-formal education. 3. The education which is given by family in the real life is kind of informal education.
