A quick look at highlights of the 2011-12 home schedule:

Oct. 14, vs. Gwinnett. The season opener will be the first of 15 matchups against the Gladiators

Jan. 11, vs. Chicago. It will be the Blades’ first look at the Chicago Express, who join the ECHL this fall.

Dec. 22, vs. Trenton. The Blades’ only Thursday night home game comes just before Christmas.

Feb. 29, vs. Kalamazoo. This is the first of three games in the defending Eastern Conference champion K-Wings’ only regular-season visit to Germain Arena.

ESTERO — The Florida Everblades announced their 2011-12 season schedule on Friday, and fans are assured of at least one visit from the league's newest team.

The Everblades start the season at home against the Gwinnett Gladiators with a two-game set on Oct. 14-15. As usual, the Everblades and Gladiators will get to see each other plenty of times, with 15 matchups on the schedule.

Florida will conclude its season at home with a three-game series against the Gladiators on March 28, 30-31.

The Chicago Express, which will begin play in the ECHL in the fall, visit Germain Arena for a three-game series on Jan. 11, 13 and 14. Florida will make its first visit to the Windy City for two games on Feb. 25-26.

Team president and general manager Craig Brush said the Everblades worked hard to schedule a game against the Colorado Eagles, the newest member of the Western Conference, but couldn't quite iron out the details in time.

“We like to give our fans a chance to see the new teams in the league,” Brush said. “We're excited to have Chicago come in, and we tried to get Colorado to come in, but it didn’t work out. Next year we’ll try to have them come here, and we'll also go out there and play.”

The Everblades will play 36 games at home and 36 on the road during the regular season. Of their 36 home games, 13 are on Friday nights, 12 on Saturday nights, 10 on Wednesday nights and one on Thursday night. The start times for Everblades home games will remain the same as last season, with weekday games starting and 7:30 p.m. and Saturday games starting at 7 p.m.

“We were able to get back to 25 games on Friday and Saturday,” said Brush, whose team played 23 home games on Fridays and Saturdays last season. “We have one Thursday night game, but it's around Christmastime and kids will be out of school, so families will be able to come out.”

The schedule is loaded with games against fellow South Division foes, as the Everblades will play Gwinnett, South Carolina and Greenville a combined 39 times. Florida will play six games against Reading and Elmira, the most against any non-division foes.

The Everblades will play just one game against Toledo and Cincinnati, the least against any teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Everblades will host three different six-game home stands (Nov. 30 to Dec. 10; Jan. 25 to Feb. 4; March 21 to 31). Last season, Florida only had two home stands of five games or longer.

The team's longest road trip comes early in the season, when Florida hits the road for a nine-game trip from Oct. 21 through Nov. 5. The trip includes visits to Elmira, Trenton, Reading, Greenville, Gwinnett and South Carolina.

“We have two lengthy trips, but having one at the beginning is never a bad thing because it gives the players a chance to bond,” Brush said. “We also have some extended homestands that should serve us well.”

Late in the year, the Everblades hit the road for a seven-game northern swing from March 9-18 that opens with a pair of games neutral site games in Johnstown, Pa., against the Wheeling Nailers. The trip also includes stops in Trenton, Reading and Elmira.

With the schedule released, Brush and head coach Greg Poss now turn their attention to deciding which players from last season will receive qualifying offers. Teams are required to submit their season-ending roster by 3 p.m. on June 15. The team can officially extend qualifying offers and begin signing players to contracts on June 16.

Brush said the team has made contact with a number of players, but it’s still very early in the process.

“It’s still early and everybody that you’d like to bring in is waiting for an American League deal,” Brush said. “Right now, we’re focused on making solid contacts with players and having a relationship with them so guys that don’t sign with the AHL are interested in coming here.”

<data: post.body />    Climate change is the change of temperature, air pressure, wind, rainfall, and humidity as a result of global warming. Due to the greenhouse gas effect, the greenhouse gases will continue long-wave radiation that is hot, so the surface temperature of the earth will rise and become hotter where the rate of increase of heat is directly proportional to the rate of change of greenhouse gas concentration. with the rate of change in greenhouse gas concentrations.       If there is a rise in global average temperature of 1.5-2.5oC, the possibility of extinction will occur 20-30 species of flora and fauna. Learning takes place when students try to connect new phenomena into their knowledge structures. That is, the lesson material must match the student's abilities and must be relevant to the cognitive structure of the student. Therefore, the lesson should be related to the concepts that students already have, so that the new concepts are completely absorbed by it. Thus, students' emotional intellectual factors are involved in learning activities.      Meaningful learning is a fun lesson that will have the advantage of reaping all the information intact so that the final consequence improves the student's ...
