While many children dream of becoming firefighters or ballerinas, Inanda Tiaka was dreaming of helping less fortunate children obtain a good education that would help them achieve their future goals. Her dream never faded. Together with a friend, she founded the organization Child Can Lead in Jakarta. Not even a year old, CCL has already made great strides. Thanks to the generous support of donors, CCL was able to build a library, which also doubles as an office, where almost 90 children can come to read and participate in writing workshops. And the best part? Inanda never really has to grow up — she gets to play with children ...

Thoughtful and informative, this exhibit provides a rarely seen glimpse of Native American life and culture through richly varied work by artists who deserve to be better known. Visitors will see long-haired Navajo cowboys resting on the trail, painted by an Apache artist. Stepping into the library, they'll find portraits of costumed Haida, Iroquois and Kaw men from the "People of the South Wind," done by Sioux artist Oscar Howe. Jumat, 08 Juli 2011 21:28 WIB Komentar: 2 0 Like Dislike 0 JAKARTA--MICOM: Asosiasi Perguruan Tinggi Swasta Indonesia (Aptisi) menghimbau kalangan perguruan tinggi agar mewaspadai kemungkinan masuknya perguruan tinggi asing dalam Rancangan Undang Undang Perguruan Tinggi (RUU-PT) yang masih dibahas di DPR. Hal tersebut diungkapkan Ketua Umum Aptisi Eddy Suandi Hamid di Jakarta, Kamis (7/7) lalu. Eddy mewanti wanti, peran PT dalam negeri akan lemah atau inferior jika RUU PT disahkan. Eddy Suandi Hamid yang juga Rektor Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) Yogyakarta mengingatkan Indonesia mesti mewaspadai masuknya lembaga pendidikan asing karena dalam era globalisasi semuanya serba terbuka. But that’s precisely what the Obama administration aims to do, according to a recent article in the New York Times. In an effort to channel more money toward improving students’ mastery of broad subjects math, reading and history, the administration has proposed a 20 percent reduction in funding for career and technical funding, even as it seeks to raise the amount of funding devoted to education overall. Webometrics adalah sebuah lembaga afiliasi dengan Dewan Riset Nasional Spanyol. Penilaian peringkat diukur dalam empat indikator, yaitu size (jumlah halaman publikasi elektronik yang terdapat dalam domain perguruan tinggi), visibility (jumlah halaman lain yang mencantumkan alamat domain perguruan tinggi yang dinilai), rich files (relevansi sumber elektronik dengan kegiatan akademik dan publikasi perguruan tinggi tersebut), dan scholar (jumlah publikasi dan sitasi bermutu pada domain perguruan tinggi).
